This is a painting of Hunter Canyon in the Moab Utah area. I was drawn to the vertical scale of the red rock cliffs and the color of the desert varnish. The aged twisted cottonwood tree with the fresh green leaves of spring make a nice contrast with the abstract rock faces. Hiking in the Canyon is always a treat!
