Whispers the River by Page Holland

"As I stood painting this scene a few days in a row, I heard the constant whisper as the silt in the river slipped by."  Primarily painted Plein Air in October of 2017 as a PAM main competition painting, Page felt something was not quite right.  In February she adjusted (in the studio) the lower rippled area to slow the eye and bring the viewer back into the area of the rocks in the water.

This painting is headed to the John Wesley Powell River Museum for their annual River Runners Show where it will hang March  31- April 21 2018.
