One of my all time favorite hikes within the Wasatch Mountains is the trail that leads up to the lakes Lillian, Florence, and Blanch.  These three lakes, supported by pioneer masonry, reside in the upper glacial cirque at the base of Sundial Peak.  Foxes, big horn sheep, and mountain trout, to name a few of the animals I’ve come across while quietly sketching in this area, round out a very diverse mountain ecosystem.   And true to its name, in the summer months, right before the sun completely falls behind sundial peak, its shadow casts across the lakes and points in the general direction of six o’clock. This occurrence marks the time in which, someone like myself begins to pack up and ventures back down the trail.

Simply put, I could have summed up this scene in two words: always memorable.

This painting comes framed behind Museum grade, UV protective, glass.
